The etymology of the name Porcino mushroom (Boletus Edulis) comes from the Latin "Edulis" which means edible.
The hat has dimensions ranging from 5 to 20 cm in diameter. The color is variable and ranges from creamy white to reddish brown to dark brown.
The Porcino mushroom grows at varying altitudes. Mainly it is born under conifers and birches, oaks and beeches and its flesh develops a really pleasant aroma. It is no coincidence that from a gastronomic and food point of view it is the most sought after and esteemed mushroom for drying.
It can be found from the hot months of summer to late autumn, however it varies according to the seasonal pace: it is opposed to drought and low temperatures.
